About Marisa

Marisa began her yoga journey in 2009 within the dynamic hot yoga scene in Calgary, Alberta. However, it was not until she relocated to St. John’s, Newfoundland, in 2011 that yoga became a fundamental aspect of her lifestyle and a means to connect with a vibrant community.

Over the past 15 years, Marisa has traveled extensively throughout Canada and internationally, consistently practicing yoga in both hot and non-heated studios. She has engaged with various styles of yoga, enhancing her understanding and appreciation of the discipline.

Becoming a yoga instructor has been a long-standing aspiration for Marisa, and now, with this opportunity in Whitehorse, Yukon she is excited to share her extensive knowledge and passion. Drawing from her years of experience, mentorship, and dedicated training, Marisa is committed to contributing to the community and inspiring others on their yoga journeys.

Testimonials

"Marisa's yoga classes have been such a great addition to my life! She has a really calm, easy going presence which adds to an enjoyable yoga experience. I love her stretch/yin class as well as the flow class. I love the venue at Decora as well. The greenhouse flow classes this summer were an absolute delight (although I don't want to tell too many people about them so that I don't have to compete for a spot next year;)). Highly recommend!"

-Leah Berman, Yoga Yoga Practitioner

"I've taken several of Marisa’s classes, and each one has been a truly grounding and uplifting experience. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed into a warm, calm, and judgment-free space. Marisa creates an inclusive environment that supports personal growth, no matter where you are in your yoga journey. Her classes are clearly crafted with care from the breathwork and postures to the music and the beautiful, reflective readings she shares at the end. Every session leaves me with a deep sense of peace and gratitude. I'm so grateful for the space Marisa holds in the Whitehorse yoga community. It's something special!"

-Kathleen Marques, Yoga Practitioner

"I’ve been to a few of Marisa’s classes and they’ve been amazing! The space is comfortable and bright and each class has been a good mix of focusing on alignment, connecting breath to movement and lots of adaptations for different yoga levels. Also glad to be seeing some more regular yoga classes being offered!"

-Lara Herry-Saint Onge, Yoga Practitioner

"I've attended a few of Marisa’s classes now and I can't recommend them highly enough! Marisa creates a space that truly feels open to everyone, whether you're just starting your yoga journey or have been practicing for years. I love the variety of classes and times offered, which makes it easy to fit yoga into a busy schedule. Each class is thoughtfully guided, with options and modifications for all levels, so you always feel supported and encouraged to grow at your own pace. Marisa has a unique ability to challenge you while keeping the environment positive and inclusive. I've noticed real progress in my practice, both physically and mentally, thanks to Marisa’s classes!"

About Live4theRush

Live4theRush brings over a decade of shared experience recreating and working in the ski industry, grounded in a strong commitment to mountain safety, education, and public outreach.

Our journey began in Revelstoke, British Columbia in 2015, where we met during a splitboarding avalanche course, an experience that sparked a mutual passion for backcountry travel, snow safety, and the foundation of our long-standing collaboration.

The Yukon has since become our longest-standing home since 2019, and the heart of our professional identity. It’s here that we began incorporating snowmobiling into our winter recreation and expanding our reach into remote terrain. Over time, we’ve built strong relationships recreating and working with the local snow and avalanche safety community, delivering public avalanche talks / workshops, and helping foster a culture of safe, informed backcountry travel in the North.
